An automation studio in Leuven
The Data Key has worked with small and medium businesses across Belgium and the Netherlands since 2022. Today our focus is automation: the voice systems, workflows and dashboards that take repetitive work off small teams — measured in hours and euros, with content and product video alongside.
How we think
Every system is measured in hours and euros, not adjectives.
Human oversight on every automation we ship.
Built around the tools you already run, not a rebuild.
We measure your number before we quote it.
What we do
We work across four connected services, so automation, data and content stay joined up instead of scattered across suppliers.
The cost behind the content
Every piece of digital work — the content we create, the automations we build, the platforms your business runs on — is powered by something physical. Data centres are now among the fastest-growing sources of electricity demand in the world: global data centre electricity use grew 17% in 2025 alone, and the International Energy Agency projects that demand will roughly double again by 2030.
That infrastructure powers our work too. We think the right response isn't to step away from better tools — it's to make sure the business built on top of them puts something back.
Harness the Wind
5% of our net profit funds renewable energy and environmental work around the world
Starting from our first full quarter of retainer revenue, The Data Key commits 5% of net profit — not revenue we haven't earned yet, the actual profit — to Harness the Wind, our own small program for funding real environmental and renewable energy work.
We donate directly to a recognised Belgian environmental foundation rather than running our own fund. That means the money goes to work faster, and it means every euro is independently accounted for by an organisation whose entire purpose is this work — not managed by us.
We'll publish the number once a year, here on this page. Not because it's large — it isn't yet — but because a business that talks about data and numbers to its clients should hold itself to the same standard.
And this is a starting point, not the finish line. As The Data Key grows, we intend to build out more sustainability solutions — widening what Harness the Wind funds and finding new ways to make the work we create, and the work we automate, lighter on the world it runs on.
